Screwed... literally...

Somewhere along my travels, my car tire got screwed! Apparently, I ran over a screw at some point! And I ran over it perfectly, because it lodged straight into my tire. I discovered it tonight because that tire was making a funny thumping noise when I was driving. (The noise I noticed because I had the window down because Toddy and Jasmine like the wind in their face!) And then when I got out and actually LOOKED at my tires, it was pretty obvious it was flat!!

I am very grateful I had just left my parents' house when I noticed this!! So I turned back around. I wanted to change the tire myself- just as a refresher course- because it's been a LONG time since I've changed one! But I asked my dad to come watch- just to make sure I did it right. Well- I got the donut tire out all right. That's about as far as we got. Because neither my dad nor I could get the lugnuts off the tires. We even got out an old lead pipe that my grandpa (Joe) gave to me once to help in this very situation. (This lead pipe is nicknamed "The Enforcer" by Joe.) But alas- those lugnuts were even too tight for the Enforcer to help.

Luckily, I have awesome family support! My dad let me take his car to get to work tomorrow. (Because although technically, it's my day off from the dental office... I'm still working at the physical therapy office!) Yep- 50 hr work weeks. Yeehaw. And... now we know where I will have the joy of spending my short amount of Saturday free time... thanks to one little screw. On the bright side- I'll get it replaced for free because I have a tire warranty. And I was glad my dad was there to help. And that he let me use his car! So there's definitely a silver lining to this cloud. :)
