For those of you who don't know... there is a job out there called "The Best Job in the World".
It's an Island Caretaker on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. http://www.islandreefjob.com/
They basically take you on all the adventurous, fun things to do down there... and then you write about it on your travel blog. Thousands of people have applied for this job. (Including me!!)
It was a long shot, but I figured hey- why not apply?? :)
So... I submitted my video application. But then was stumped when I received an email yesterday that said:
Sorry CJ, Your video application for Island Caretaker has been rejected.
Your application was rejected as your video did not meet the criteria.
Don't give up - the best job in the world could still be yours.
Just submit a new application by February 22, 2009.

But they didn't tell me what criteria I didn't meet!! I have no clue what to change about my video in order to resubmit it! And I only have 4 days to figure it out and resubmit!

Tell me what you think! Is it because I didn't talk on it? Is it because there's a website at the end of it? (*It's a blog that I specifically created for this job to show how I would do a travel blog.) I couldn't find any specific criteria on their website... other than it had to be under 60 seconds, creative, and entertaining.

I'm fine if they watch my video and don't choose me. It's a long shot anyway! But I would at least like to be in the running! It confused me because they said to resubmit... but what do I resubmit?? What needs to be different? I 've emailed them, but I honestly doubt I'll hear back in time. This is why I'm recruiting my friends' help!! Any thoughts?

I liked it. My only thought is that they want an actual video, footage, rather than pictures. But all of them are pictures of you, so maybe you could have a short video of you talking and have a video of Jasmine at the end instead of a picture and put some of the pictures in the middle. I just don't know how to make it less than 60 seconds! Good luck!
Hi Ceej! I agree with Edith. Actual footage of you talking about why you're the best candidate and you can flash photos of your experience while you're speaking. I did enjoy the slideshow but you need to take it to the next level and and speak instead of having them read. If there's anything I can do to help call me 480 2949495. Love you and don't give up!
